There are many places in Chicago’s Western Suburbs to meet to have a photo session: parks, forest preserves, your own home, and downtown areas. But one of everyone’s favorite places, hands down, is
St. James Farm.
People are just drawn there, families and seniors. The fences, fields, buildings, paths, trees, wide open sky, and cool doors make it a no brainer for many people. So as a photographer, one of the creative challenges I’m faced with is how to make each session special. I have no interest in getting stuck in a rut. There are definitely spots at St. James which you will see me returning to. Some of those spots are the reason clients are drawn to St. James in the first place, so we really have to go there. But there are more than enough places to make it all your own. Just know that every time I take a walk in a repeat (for me) location, I look for new angles, new spots, hidden gems, and images that fit you. I embrace the challenge. Honestly, it’s part of what makes it fun for me. 🙂
Will’s senior photo shoot, out of six + years of sessions, is probably the session I laughed through the most. My laughter started early, and didn’t stop until I said goodbye. So. Much. Fun. Here’s a look at what we created…
